Its population is of Tabasco origin. Its main characteristic is that it houses one of the few semi-perennial bodies of water in the region, the Carolina Lagoon.
The Valentín Natural community cooperative, made up of 30 people, is part of Visit Calakmul and operates a camping site on the shore of the lagoon that makes it unique in the area.
