Colón (as it is known locally) is located 40 km south of Xpujil. Its inhabitants are largely of Veracruz descent. The only community in all of Calakmul that has numerous caves that can be explored.
The ejidatarios (90 in total) make up a society that is part of Visit Calakmul and whose main attraction is its caves in the heart of the jungle.
