Textile embroidery in cross stitch

Mayan women have embroidered since the times of the ancient Mayan civilization, back then they did it with materials of plant origin, such as agave fiber. Embroidering was considered a divine task, related to Ixchel, goddess of the moon and patron saint of spinning.
