Get to know the Mayan underworld like never before. Visit the caves of the Cristóbal Colon community (located 40 minutes from Xpujil, the municipal head of Calakmul) and experience the underground world of the Mayans. Come and feel the magic hidden in these mysterious caves that witnessed the Mayan splendor.
HOUSE OF RAIN CAVES
The walk through the caves is done on a combination of narrow passageways and underground vaults where you will discover vestiges like impressive vessels that evidence the presence of the ancient Mayans and the use they gave to these sites.
These spaces were and continue to be considered sacred to the inhabitants of the community who still leave offerings to the "Mountain Caregivers" before entering, evidencing the Mayan roots that remain in their beliefs and traditions. If you like the wild and extreme experiences this is a destination that you have to visit.
KAYAK RIDE BY THE CREEK
Enjoy a kayak trip down the creek while you have fun and relax; you can also do bird watching and get incredible close-ups due to the position in which you sail. It is also an alternative to transport you to the caves and continue your adventure towards the unknown Calakmul.
